Elon Musk Reveals New Optimus Robot

During its 2023 Financial Investor Day, Tesla showcased the progress of its latest generation Optimus humanoid robot. The Tesla Bot can now walk, pick up objects, and perform basic tasks, just 19 months after it was initially announced. Elon Musk presented a video of the Optimus prototype, highlighting its recent advancements, as it had to be manually moved on stage to wave like a politician just last October.

The pace of development is impressive, considering that during the Artificial Intelligence Day event, this version of Optimus was unable to walk. Although it still falls short of the Boston Dynamics Atlas robot, which can perform parkour, the Optimus robot can be seen using its opposable thumbs and human-like hands to pick up and move objects.

In a mockup of android-based assembling, the robots seem to cooperate consistently to collect each other. While Boston Elements has been creating biomimetic robots beginning around 1992, it took them close to 10 years to show Chart book how to move, do parkour, and perform straightforward assignments.
